Azarenka and Stosur pull out from Indian Wells

Unlucky quarters in Indian Wells as both Azarenka and Sam Stosur were not able to play the quarters because of their injuries.

Azarenka

Vika has been struggling for some time with her ankle to defeat Ursula Radwanska 6-3 6-1 i nth 4th round almost in tears because of the pain.

“I’m extremely disappointed because I feel I’m playing really well right now,” said Vika. “I tried absolutely everything I could, but I have been advised by the doctor, by my own team, that it’s just a very, very high risk already.”

So Caroline Wozniacki is through the semis.

Stosur

Same destiny for Sam Stosur that had to pull out because of a calf problem.

“I hurt my right calf muscle in the last game of my match against Mona Barthel when I was serving for the match, so I don’t know if you can get any more unlucky than that.” said he Australian

“I think this is only the second time I’ve ever pulled out of a match in my career, and unfortunately there isn’t anything I can do about it.”

This time it was Kerber to take advantage of it.

Wozniacki – Kerber

Caroline and Angelique are going to play the semis in full strenghts. Head to head is 3-2 for Kerber that has won the last 3 (all in 2012).
