Madison Keys like Andy Murray positive to the Coronavirus. She will not play the Australian Open

Madison Keys will not play the Australian Open after she was found positive for the Coronavirus

Madison Keys No Australian Open

The situation is getting rather messy for the Australian Open. The slam has already lost Roger Federer and John Isner that didn’t want to be separated for too long from their families. Andy Murray has just tested positive for the Coronavirus and now Madison Keys had the same fate. Amanda Anisimova was also found positive for the Coronavirus, but she might probably play the Australian Open as there should be enough time for her to recover and stay healthy.

Madison posted a message on Social Media to disclose the bad news and her disappointment. She also confirmed that she wouldn’t play in the Australian Open.

“This was her message:

Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I unfortunately tested positive for
Covid-19 before I was supposed to fly to Australia. I’m very disappointed to not be able to play in the coming weeks after training hard in the off-season and knowing Tennis Australia and the tours did so much to make these events happen.

I am self-isolating at home and will continue to follow all the necessary health precautions. I look forward to being back on tour next month.

Thank you all for your support.

Stay healthy and safe.

Madison”
