Humble Nadal says he doesn’t deserve a better seeding at the Roland Garros

The King of Clay shows again his sportsmanship.

There is this big controversy about Rafa’s seeding in the next Roland Garros edition. In fact, Rafa will probably be seeded no.5 as per his actual ranking because he is “paying” for the fact that he was unable to compete in the second part of 2012 for his injury.

Many maintain that since he is definitely the most successful clay court player in tennis history and he has recently achieved a significant success in the last few months after his comeback (ie he is fit to play at his best), he deserves more. Seeding Rafa higher than his actual rank would avoid a bloody quarter against one of the other big 4.

The Roland Garros denied this opportunity to follow the official rankings. Rafa doesn’t disagree.

“The players that are in front of me are there because they have been playing better than me. Well, in fact they have played. I haven’t played and I haven’t trained either. Good for them for not being injured. The problem is mine.” commented Rafa.
