Nadal beats Berdych in straight sets to reach the final in Rome

It’s another final for Rafa in Rome!

Nadal wins a very convincing semifinal against Berdych in just 77 minutes. Rafa was particularly happy about his opening set to comment “The first set was fantastic,”

“I played at a high level and everything went well with no mistakes. I was dominating the points and following to the net. I think I played one of my best matches since I am came back.”.

The second set was a closer encounter with Tomas Berdych getting more and more into the match. Eventually it was Rafa to break the Czech again at the first and only time asking.

Rafa managed to win 100% of his points on his second serve (10 out of 10) and in the second set he managed to serve 93% of his first serve in. That’s quite… solid!

At the end of the match Berdych commented  “He starts really well and, of course, it’s Rafa and we know how he plays on clay. It was a good start for him. Yesterday I had one chance that I did take and I won, and today I had one chance that I didn’t take and I lost.”
