Nadal to be back to Beijing in his quest to become world no.1

It’s definitely Rafa time!

The Spanish legend has just announced he will participate to the ATP tournament in Beijing. This is a clear move to keep his quest to get the world no.1 rank after an astonishing first part of the season.

“I’m happy to be back in Beijing. I had very good opinions about the Diamond Court, I wish I could play there this year, I wait for all my fans in China” Rafa said.

Alfred Zhang, the tournament director, commented “Nadal is a global superstar, and we are grateful to host him on our courts after the victory of 2005.” 

Rafa will be back to the tournament after a 4 years absence. 

Last year’s winner was Novak Djokovic that beat Tsonga 7-6 (4) 6-2 in the final 

Ranking

The King of Clay is now ranked world no.5, but he has a comfortable lead (1st rank) in the year to date ranking where he is 2000pts above Nova Djokovic.

If Rafa has a good 2nd half of the season he will definitely manage to end the 2013 as world no.1.
