Darcis retires from Wimbledon because of a shoulder injury

Steve Darcis had a very (but good) strange Wimbledon.

After upsetting Rafa in the first round in straight sets, Steve had to retire from the competition because of an injury to his right shoulder caused by (another) fall during his match with Rafa.

From Darcis

“The injury happened against Rafa in the middle of the first set when I fell down,” Steve said.

“A few hours after the Nadal match, I start to feel so much pain, I couldn’t sleep that night. I saw the physio and the doctor yesterday. They did a good job. It’s a little bit better today. But no chance I can play.”

Kubot to the third round

Darcis retirements allowed Kubot to get to the third round where he will play Benoit Paire. Head to head is 4-0 for Paire.
