Fernando was coming from a not so good season to bounce back in Wimbledon when he reached the quarters losing an epic against Murray 4-6 3-6 6-1 6-4 7-5.
Now Verdasco found himself in the final in Bastad after defeating a tough Dimitrov 7-6(3), 5-7, 7-5 in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The Spaniard will play Berlocq in the final as the Argentine defeated Thiemo de Bakker 7-5, 6-3.
