It’s an amazing Fognini!
The Italian won his first career title last week to win the second one now in Hamburg.
The Italian played a very solid match to come out from sure death when he had to save 3 match points in the second set tiebreak. That was quite a pity for Federico Delbonis also because he badly squandered the first match point with a very easy volley when Fognini was completely out of position.
Once the match went to third set the Argentine imploded and Fognini won 6-2.
Fognini: I was a bit lucky

“I was, I think, a little bit lucky. I was nervous. Today, I didn’t play really good, but I fought hard. I think that was the key. Another trophy, that’s the important thing. I want to enjoy as soon as possible. I fly to Umag tomorrow and have another chance to play.”
Delbonis: disappointed but happy
“To lose the final with match points is disappointing. But at the end of the week, the result of all the week is positive or me. It’s my first final. I beat Roger yesterday. Said Federico.
