Ugo Humbert is having a fantastic season. The 22 years old from France became an ATP champion and he also has just defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2nd round of the ATP1000 played in Bercy to face Marin Cilic in the next round.

Even if this year has been particularly challenging because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Ugo managed to have a rather busy season. He played 16 tournaments so far (Bercy included) and he has competed in 37 matches. Ugo became an ATP champion after winning his first 2 titles (Auckland and Antwerp).

The Frenchman really impressed against Stefanos Tsitsipas even if he missed the chances 2 convert 3 consecutive match points in the 2nd set after leading 6-3 in the breaker.

“It was very, very hard at the end of the second set because I was a little bit stressed and tight to finish the match, I tried to play one by one and gave what I can.

I was very relaxed [in the third set]. I tried to serve well. It’s very nice to win this kind of match like this.”
