Several Hollywood other sports personalities have leaned towards Joe Biden and it will be interesting to see whether Donald Trump will pull a surprise once again and win a second term. For Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, their experiences with Trump are likely to influence their decision when they go out and vote.

William had an uncomfortable interview about Trump in 2018
During an interview in 2018, Williams had an awkward interaction with a reporter who questioned her about the incumbent United States president. The reporter claimed that he had interviewed Trump in the past, and he had claimed that Williams was intimidated by Maria Sharapova’s beauty at their 2004 Wimbledon match. According to the reporter, Trump had declared that the 23-time Grand Slam champion was jealous of Sharapova’s supermodel good looks. However, Serena gracefully responded by explaining that she had never been intimidated by anyone on the tennis court. The former world number one will likely vote to kick Trump out of office due to the alleged insensitive and misogynistic remarks he made against her. Williams’ husband, Alexis, defended her after the awkward interview about Trump, but he recently had to step down from the Reddit board after the social media platform came under fire for harboring racist users.

Alexis decided to step down from the Reddit board after racism allegations
Earlier this year, Alexis resigned from his position on the Reddit board after a former CEO accused the company of empowering racism and white supremacy. The allegations came to light after the killing of George Floyd, and the social media company had to suspend some users due to their radical and racist views. Alexis, who is also the company’s co-founder, announced in June that he would step down from the board, and he urged the company to fill his position with a person of color. He also revealed that he would donate $1 million to former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp civil rights organization.
Ohanian has continued to advocate for social change in the United States, and he recently announced that he had already voted before the November 3 deadline. As for Serena, she has consistently used her social media platforms to advocate for racial equality and express her support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Even though voting is a personal choice, Williams’s past with Donald Trump could suggest that she will not vote for him in the upcoming election. The United States president has in the past hesitated to condemn white supremacist groups, and some of his policies are the complete opposite of what Williams and her husband stand for.
