For Tsitsipas, his run at the French Open ended in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic. The Greek star appeared to struggle with severe cramps during the match, and he later confirmed that he had suffered a minor leg injury. Tsitsipas withdrew from the St. Petersburg Open to recover from the injury and prepare for the Vienna Open which begins on October 24th. The current world number 5 traveled to Greece for a brief vacation. In a recent Instagram post, Stefanos shared a shirtless picture of himself relaxing at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Athens.

The 22-year-old will have ample time to recuperate ahead of a frantic end to the season. Tsitsipas has already qualified for the London ATP Finals, and he will look to defend the title he won last year against Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev. Tsitsipas is also expected to play at the Paris Masters. However, his participation in the tournament will depend on how quickly he recovers from his injury. The Greek star won his first title of the year at the Marseille Open, and he will be looking to add to his tally by the end of the year. Osaka and Tsitsipas are among the most recognizable stars from the new generation of tennis players. During last month’s US Open, Osaka praised Tsitsipas after he wore a Black Lives Matter t-shirt at the tournament. The two players have used their platforms to advocate for an end to racism in the United States. Tennis fans are looking forward to seeing them overcome their injuries and return to the court.
