Murray survives Dimitrov to reach the 4th round in Miami

Grigor is there, but he needs to do a little bit more to rub shoulders with the top players.

The Bulgarian had a very good start of the match to lead 5-2 in the opening set. Then Murray saved a couple set points on his serve to rally and bring the set at the tie break where he won 7-3.

In the second set Grigor’s tennis went down a bit as the Bulgarian had to face 5 break points to drop his service once. Eventually the match ended 7-6 (3) 6-3 after 1 hour and 54 minutes.

From Murray

“It was obviously way cooler today with much slower conditions,” said the Scott. “The ball wasn’t going as quick. I was leaving the ball a bit short. Once I started to improve my depth a bit, I made it tough for him and he started to make more mistakes after that.”

Next vs. Seppi

Andy will play Seppi in the next round (7-5 4-6 6-2 on Bellucci). Head to head is 4-1 for Murray that won the last 4 all in straight sets.
