Naomi Osaka Holding The Us Open Trophy

Naomi Osaka has a fantastic career as she has already conquered 3 slams at 22 years of age. However, her path to greatness wasn’t always as easy also because sometimes, she lacked enthusiasm. Naomi had her father as her coach for long and at times, it wasn’t easy for him to motivate her daughter.

However, everything went well and the Japanese sensation posted a couple of hilarious pictures showing the stark contrast of her holding a trophy when she was much younger and her recent picture of Naomi happy with her 2nd US Open trophy.

Of course, Naomi wrote: “How it started, how it is going.”

About Naomi Osaka’s father

Naomi has been coached for the biggest part of her early career by her father, Leonard. He took the inspiration from Serena and Venus Williams’ father Richard that decided to teach tennis to his daughters even if he never practiced the sport. Later, when they could afford it, Leonard started to hire professional coaches to help Naomi. However, he was extremely successful when last year he temporarily took over the role as a coach again to help Noami to win the tournament in Osaka and Beijing.

Nevertheless, the relationship “father-coach” seemed to be dysfunctional for Naomi and Leonard. Once the former world no.1 admitted with a smile that she couldn’t be coached by her father as she was getting irritated all the times.

Eventually, Naomi chose to partner with Wim Fissette and things started to go extremely well. More importantly, the enthusiasm is still there.
