Why Djokovic defaulted

Unfortunately, Novak Djokovic showed too many nerves during his US Open 4th round against Pablo Carreno Busta. After slamming a ball violently in the 9th game of the opening set when he was unable to convert a set point, Novak hit a lines jusdge at her throat after losing the 10th game. That caused a rather shocking default.

According to Patrick, Novak had just too much on his plate during this US Open stint, and he was just unable to keep his nerves. Patrick tweeted:

“I feel that Novak had too much on his plate: trying to win this US Open was already a huge goal. Starting this player’s association and a campaign in order to convince players to be part of it is a full time job & a lot of extra stress. Nobody can afford to lose focus during a GS”
