Novak Djokovic was heavily slammed following the halting of the Adria Tour after some players and team members tested positive to Coronavirus.

Fortunately, Novak has been receiving the support of many personalities and fans all over the world. The Serbian champion did commit a mistake, but he didn’t break any rule in staging the event and Serbia seemed to have the Coronavirus situation under control.

Many, like Feliciano Lopez, pointed out the fact that the government allowed large gathering in Belgrade, and therefore, it wasn’t fair to give the entire blame to Novak.

As reported by mondo.rs, talking on Pink TV, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić had the gut to admit the mistake to publicly ask to leave Novak alone.

“Full support for Novak Djokovic, every part of him, he tried to do something good, not only for us in Serbia, but also in the region to put politics aside, to help young tennis players, to raise money for humanitarian purposes, to do something. Congratulations! Whether it was the right time or not, with this epidemic you do not know, but anyway, it is easiest that all the generals are after the battle and that everyone criticizes someone because he has already tried to do something good and noble.

If they could shift the blame on me personally, as prime minister, and leave Novak alone, I would love it. It’s our fault, we eased the measures, if we hadn’t there would be no tournament and leave a man alone when he tries to do something good and brave, the worst thing is that you have 1,001 kibbutzes who will criticize what has been done from the comfort of home.”
