Djokovic will never be as loved as Federer. SIMON

Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest players in tennis history and he is extremely active in helping others. However, it’s baffling how tennis fans all over the world are much more leaning toward Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Sometimes, Novak found himself in rather awkward situations such as last year’s Wimbledon final when almost the entire Centre Court (and beyond) was extremely supportive of Roger when clashing against the Serbian champion. Eventually, Novak was just amazing in winning that match after he famously saved 2 consecutive championship points on Roger’s serve.

Former world no.6, Gilles Simon, during a recent interview with Tennis Break News, stressed the fact that Federer will always be more loved than him regardless of the number of the slams that Novak is going to win.

“You just have to accept that Roger is not only Roger in tennis but in the whole world. He’s the most loved sportsman, you can’t fight. Even if Djokovic will make 22, 25, 36 Grand Slams, he can say that he was the strongest, but people will still prefer Roger.

Novak, when he forgets that he is less loved and says to himself, like at Wimbledon last year “ok you are all against me, well you are all going to die, I am going to fuck him”, well he is unbeatable, you see it in his eyes. When he wants to look cool, he doesn’t play as well and he isn’t as strong because he doesn’t have the same determination.”

Now the world no.4, the Swiss played his last match on the 30^th of January when he capitulated to Novak Djokovic 7-6¹ 6-4 6-3 in the semifinal of the Australian Open.

Roger Federer’s most significant achievement of this season was reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open.

Ranked no.1, Djokovic played his last match on the 29^th of February when he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 in the final in Dubai to win his 79^th career title.

At the moment, this season Novak has a 18-0 win-loss record. Djokovic clinched 2 titles in 2020 at the Australian Open and in Dubai.

Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic played each other 50 times. The head to head is 27-23 for Djokovic. The last time that they squared off, Novak Djokovic won 7-6¹ 6-4 6-3 in the semifinal in Melbourne (Australian Open) on the 30^th of January 2020.
