Serena Williams promotes GREAT informative video about the struggle of the black community in the US

Serena Williams and educating vs racism

Serena Williams has always been extremely active in fighting racism. The American champion has faced racist behavior many times in her life, also when playing major tennis tournaments. The US and the world remain shocked after the horrible killing of George Floyd and the #blacklivesmovemtn got some momentum.

Serena’s husband, Alex Ohanian, hit the headlines for leaving the board of Reddit as the company has been accused of profiting from racial remarks that have not been removed. On quitting, Alexis urged credit to replace him with a black person.

Educating people about racism

One of the key elements in the fight against racism is to educated people about the struggle that the black community endured in the US. This is a key point often highlighted by Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff that have been extremely vocal on this issue in the last few weeks.

Serena used her powerful platform to retweet a very interesting video from the so-called “Equal Justice Initiative.”
