THIS DAY Simona Halep won her maiden title at the Roland Garros

2 years ago Simona won her elusive 1st slam

Simona Halep is one of the most inspiring tennis players in history. The world no.2 never fails to disappoint with her never-give-up attitude to give her 100% whenever she plays a tennis match.

The Romanian sensation has 20 titles under her belt. However, for some reason, she used to struggle to win majors.  Before the 2018 French Open, Halep had a disappointing 0-3 record in slam finals as it seemed she had a sort of mental block before playing the crucial 7th match. Simona was particularly shattered when she capitulated to Jelena Ostapenko in 2017 final in Paris after leading 6-4 3-0.
