Amanda Anisimova is among the tennis players that are taking on social media to communicate their displeasure for what has been happing in the US following the murder 46-year-old black man George Floyd.
The young American took advantage of her platform to talk against the racial discrimination that looks to be still rampant in her country.
“What is going on right now is absolutely insane. I totally standby everyone who is protesting and trying to spread awareness.
I am trying to send a message, our system is broken, and racial injustice still exists and that’s crazy. We shouldn’t be living in a world like that. So I thought to send a message and do my part because this is important.”
After the video, Amanda also tweeted a quote that stressed the fact that racism is not getting worse, but it is just broadcasted more and more thanks to social media.
“Racism isn’t getting worse, it’s getting filmed”
Coco Gauff “got the leadership” among the nextgen against racism with a series of posts that have been also widely appreciated by tennis legend Chris Evert
