Andy Murray is reported to be back to competitions as early as July. The British sensation had a remarkable comeback in 2019 after he was extremely close to retirement because of a hip injury. The former world no1 had an operation soon after the Australian Open and he stunned the tennis community after winning a title in Antwerp in October.

Unfortunately, Andy put too much strain on his body, and he couldn’t compete since he lost in a Davis Cup rubber in November. The good news is that apparently the Brit is now fit and ready to get back to competitions as soon as possible.
Local organizations are now organizing regional tennis events that are starting to take place with the easing of the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic. The LTA has announced a series of events to take place this summer as the main tours will be halted until August and unfortunately Wimbledon has been canceled.
The LTA has unveiled plans for 4 events to take place at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton between July 3-26. Of course, they need confirmation from the government that is likely to be announced. The events will be open to the 32 top-ranked British players (16 men and 16 women) and it is widely expected that Andy will be part of it.

I’m delighted to announce today the next stage of elite tennis’ return to competing safely behind closed doors as part of a five-phase plan coordinated by UK Sport with Government.
The LTA is actively engaged in developing the necessary guidelines for behind closed doors events, which we hope will be determined by the Government in the coming weeks to ensure the safest environment for anyone involved in returning to competition and look forward to bringing tennis back into people’s lives this summer.”

At the moment ranked no.129, Andy played his last match on the 20th of November 2019 when he overcame Tallon Griekspoor 6-77 6-4 7-65 in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup.
