All tournaments are starting to cancel their events. The Miami Open was officially canceled by a recent communication from the Miami Dade County and with most of the players trying to get back home, it was time also for the 125k WTA International in Guadalajara to be called off. The organization tried to enlarge the draw taking advantage of the other cancellations, but eventually, it was too impractical to stage the event. Genie Bouchard and Veronika Kudermentova were meant to play, but that is not going to happen.
We are still waiting for the official communication, but it seems to be more and more plausible that the entire tour will take a 6 weeks’ break. Djokovic has still kept Monte Carlo in his schedule, but it’s crucial to see how the situation will evolve in the next few hours.
