Djokovic defeats Almagro to win the Mubadala World Tennis Championship

Great Nole once again. He starts the season as he did last year winning the prestigious Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi.

Nicolas replaced Nadal after the King of Clay had to withdraw due to a misterious stomach virus. Almagro wasn’t there just to fill a gap to reach the final and win the opening set at the tiebreak. Time for Nole to regroup and win the last 2 sets in style and get his nice $250.000 check (it always helps…;-)

From Nole

“It is amazing, him coming here only a few days ago and having a late entrance to the tournament and performing this well yesterday and today,” Djokovic said.

“It was a fantastic experience again for me coming to Abu Dhabi. This is a very nice tournament, you always get great matches, very tough matches against top opponents, and great attendance also,” he added

From Almagro

“I have had a lot of fun and I have to thank the organisers for calling me in the last minute because it is amazing to be here for me,” Almagro said.

Now I want to rest because I am really tired. I have two more days before 2013 so I will be going home in a few hours. I want to enjoy my Christmas tomorrow.”

Nole will head to Perth to play the Hopman CUp with Ana Ivanovic.
