Finally Bernard… or at least we hope so!
The heavily criticized Australian won a very good match in Perth recovering from a couple of difficult situations.
The Match – 7-6(8) 3-6 7-5
Bernard won the opener 7-6 (8) even if he was 1-6 down in the tiebreak (!!!) . Then Haas won the second set 6-3 to then lead 5-3 in the third. Time for Bernard to stage another incredible turnaround and win 4 consecutive games and the third set 7-5.

“It was a very tough first set. It was my first set in a few months,” Tomic said. “I don’t know how I got out of that tiebreak.
I’ve been training really hard and extremely well. I’ve been training well so hopefully it will be good preparation for the Australian Open.” added Bernard.
If teenager Ashleigh Barty upsets Petkovic, Australia will go to the next round.
