Amanda Anisimova is set to become an even bigger star in the tennis courts in 2020. The hot tennis player said that she is determined to become the next American tennis star. Amanda Anisimova’s bio, family and personal life
Amanda Anisimova has had a pretty colorful life outside the court. Her parents, Konstantin Anisimov and Olga Anisimova, emigrated from Russia to give their children a better life. Born in New Jersey, she credits her sister Maria for inspiring her to become a tennis player.
While he did not have extensive tennis experience, Konstantin helped shape Amanda’s tennis skills. In fact, he remained her coach until his untimely death last year.
Anisimova’s professional career
Ever since turning pro, Amanda Anisimova has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Anisimova had a stellar reputation in the junior leagues. When she debuted in the U.S. Open in 2016 as a wild card, she showed huge potential after reaching the second round. She eventually reached the top 100 in September 2018 after her finals finish in the Japan Women’s Open.
In April last year, the then 17-year old player clinched her first WTA title win, after her victory in Colombia’s Copa Colsanitas. This made her the youngest American player to win a tournament in the WTA Tour since Serena Williams.
Anisimova so far has peaked at no. 21 in the rankings. She is currently at no. 24, which resulted in her getting an invitation for last year’s WTA Elite Trophy. She, however, declined to participate.
Apart from her impressive record on the tennis court, Anisimova is also racking up endorsement deals. Just a few months ago, sports company Nike signed her as an endorser. The contract, valued at $100 million, is being compared to the company’s relationship with tennis star Maria Sharapova.
Is Nick Kyrgios Amanda Anisimova’s boyfriend?
Ever since getting seen together last year, Nick Kyrgios and Amanda Anisimova have been rumored to be an item.
The rumors started early last year when the two tennis players exchanged flirty posts online. In one instance, Anisimova posted a picture of her eating gelato. In the caption, she asked if there was someone who would like to have a gelato date with her. Kyrgios said that he would love to.
In the past few months, Anisimova has also been seen regularly with Kyrgios. They both upload pictures of each other on their respective social media accounts. They also practiced together multiple times during last year’s North American hard court season. However, the two of them have not confirmed if they were together and they may be just friends.

Ranked no.25, Amanda has a 2-0 win-loss record in 2020. Anisimova is now competing in Auckland where she beat Kateryna Kozlova 6-3 6-4 and Daria Kasatkina 6-2 6-4.
