The 2019 U.S. Open champ will be joining the Melbourne Park competition for the second time. She has a good chance of taking home the title.

Bianca Andreescu Nike outfit

Bianca Andreescu reveals the outfit she will be using for the 2020 Australian Open and it already looks like she will be a stunner during the tournament.

The outfit, which will be one of the dresses she will get from her partnership with sports company Nike, is a knee-length bodysuit. The bright yellow piece can be mixed with skirts, tanks and crop tops influenced by Australian artist Cassie Byrne’s watercolor pattern. It is said that the design of the bodysuit was inspired by the Melbourne sun.

What makes the bodysuit innovative is the fact that it helps regulate the body temperature of the player who wears it. It helps maximize the breathability in the parts of the body that usually overheats.

Players also have the option to customize the bodysuit according to their style. They just have to mix and match the patterns and supporting garments that come with the piece.

The bodysuit will be part of the NikeCourt Melbourne collection that will become available globally starting Monday, January 13. All of the pieces in the collection will feature patterns from Byrne.

Andreescu’s 2019 breakthrough

Before Andreescu’s breakthrough last year, only a few tennis fans have heard of the rising WTA star.

The 19-year old Canadian star started the year at no. 152 on the WTA rankings. She then surprised people when she won the Premier Mandatory Indian Wells Open in March, which boosted her ranking to no. 24. It was the first WTA title in her professional tennis career.

In August, she then clinched her second WTA title in her hometown of Toronto. The Rogers Cup victory helped her rise to no. 15 in the rankings. A few weeks later, she followed up the Canadian tournament win with her triumph in the U.S. Open. It was her first Grand Slam win, making her the first person to win a Grand Slam after 2000.

Because of her 2019 performance, Andreescu was announced as the WTA Newcomer of the Year. She was able to beat fellow teen sensation Coco Gauff for the prize.

Canadian star’s 2020 plans

Andreescu’s fans expect a lot from the top Canadian female player, especially in the year’s upcoming tournaments.

So far, Andreescu has already pulled out of the ASB Classic because of a left knee injury. But she already confirmed that she will be participating in the Australian Open.

Right now, Andreescu is the second-favorite to win in Melbourne Park. Oddschecker puts her at 7/1 while current world no. 1 Ashleigh Barty is at 8/1. Both are currently right behind tennis legend Serena Williams, who Andreescu defeated in last year’s U.S. Open finals. Williams has 6/1 odds

Also Bet365 considered Bianca as the favorite no.2 after Serena Williams.
