As the 2019 season comes to an end, various tennis players are already getting into the holiday mood. Bianca Andreescu is one of the tennis players who is looking forward to Christmas with much zeal. She kicked off her festive season by checking in at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre last Thursday.

The Canadian was attending the tree lighting event. The event attracted hundreds of Torontonians who not only came to appreciate this much anticipated iconic tradition but also to see Bianca Andreescu live.

The General Manager of CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Sheila Jennings explained the role of this event in bringing several communities together. For him, this event allows Canadians to come together to explore and have some fun.

Sheila Jennings also confirmed why Bianca was deemed fit to grace this iconic event. She said, “Bianca has an amazing value base for family and friends, which is also very much what CF Toronto Eaton Centre is all about-we thought it would be a perfect fit to have her here hosting the event.”

On celebrating the holidays with family

The 2019 US Open champion was quick to explain how she feels about the festive season and how she plans to celebrate. She termed this year’s holidays as one of the best, having been pretty busy in previous years. She was excited by the fact this time she will celebrate Christmas with friends and family.

“The holidays are my favourite time, really. The last couple of years, I haven’t had the opportunity-I’ve been on the road, so hopefully this year I get the chance to celebrate with my family and friends,” she said.

Apart from gracing this important event, Andreescu also plans to do shopping for people around her. She listed Zara, Aritzia and Bath & Body Works as her preferred shopping outlets.

Bianca Andreescu also shared her preferred Christmas wish list. “I still have to make a list! But for sure Gucci sunglasses. I love sunglasses, and I love shoes. The more of that, the better.

Looking forward to another great season

The 19-year-old is hopeful that next season will be fair to her. She anticipates another excellent run and significant breakthrough like this year.

“I just want to continue to get better as a person and as a tennis player and be in the Olympics. Hopefully, bring a medal back home.

Andreescu has made a name for herself in the world of professional tennis. Currently, she is the highest-ranked tennis player from Canada. This year, she registered a 48-5 match record., winning titles in the US Open, Toronto and Indian Wells.

Ranked no.5, the Canadian played her last match on the 30th of October when she lost to Karolina Pliskova 6-3 ret. in the R in Shenzhen.
