Stefanos Tsitsipas is finally back to winning ways in Beijing after he was coming from 5 consecutive losses. The Greek sensation has reached the semifinal in China after beating John Isner 7-6 (3) 6-3 in what he called a battle of serves.

How Tsitsipas defeated Isner

After the match, Stefanos explained what he had to to do overcome the American giant. Tsitsipas commented:

“It was a battle of the serves today. I stayed calm; I knew what I was doing with my serve. [Good] execution from the baseline. [I felt] very fresh, very clear in my tactics and my plan.

I knew he was going to serve big; I knew I had to stay patient as I would have not being able to break him many times. So [I knew] I was to wait for the small opportunities which I was sure they were going to appear at some moments.”

Next vs. Alexander Zverev in the Beijing semifinal

Stefanos will face Sascha in the semifinal. As per Zverev’s words, they became a bit closer during the Laver Cup as they defended together the colors of Team Europe.
