Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently in action at the China Open. The player enjoyed success in the Laver Cup last month with Team Europe. Playing with legends such as Federer and Nadal was an amazing experience for the 21-year-old player. He said that he learned a lot from the duo. The world number seven has also been talking about relationships. He has described his ideal woman and the possibility of dating such a nice girl as Maria Sakkari.
Clever and understanding
The press recently photographed Tsitsipas enjoying the company of an unidentified woman. While he did not reveal her identity, the player has talked about the ideal traits he would like his future girlfriend to possess. The Greek revealed that in addition to beauty, he would like his girlfriend to be clever. The player also said that she would have to be understanding of the challenges in tennis. Though she would not necessarily have to play tennis, the 21-year-old would like a girl who understands him through the good times and the tough moments.

Tsitsipas has also answered questions about his relationship with Maria Sakkari. The two Greek players have been friends since childhood. Their mothers were tennis players and knew each other at an early age. The 21-year-old spoke fondly of Maria saying he did not know why they were yet to date.
He said, “She is a very nice girl and a good character. I could date her but I do not, I do not know why.” The world No. 7 suggested that he has been shy in the past but was now more confident. “I was shy, now I am more open. Getting older, I am more mature and I understand by myself what I want.” With the player now a little bit older, he said he can handle relationships more easily as well as any negativity he gets on social media.
Maria is currently ranked 30th in the singles rankings. She won the Morocco Open this year beating Britain’s Johanna Konta in the final. The win made her the second Greek woman after Eleni Daniilidou to win a WTA title. The 23-year-old teamed up with the Greek this year at the Hopman Cup in Australia. They defeated Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic in a mixed doubles match at the event. Maria was at the Next Gen ATP finals to cheer for Tsitsipas who eventually won the tournament. She praised him for his hard work and determination and said she was happy for her childhood friend.

Ranked no.7, the Greek has a 39-20 win-loss record in 2019. Stefanos is now playing in Beijing where he toppled Dusan Lajovic 4-6 6-3 6-4 and Nikoloz Basilashvili 4-6 6-3 6-2.
The Greek will come up against Isner in the quarter. The head to head is 2-0 for Isner.
The last time that they fought against each other, Isner won 6-4 7-68 7-64 in the 4th round in London in July 2018.
The Greek has won 2 titles in 2019 in Marseille and in Estoril. Tsitsipas was the finalist in Dubai and in Madrid.
