How Nadal met his fiance Xisca Perello

The couple will get married in October after dating since 2005.

Rafael Nadal will tie the knot with long-time girlfriend Xisca Perello this month. It will be a great achievement for the 33-year-old who has enjoyed success on the court this year. The former world number 1 won the French Open in June and the US Open last month. The victories took his Grand Slam total to 19 and he is now one short of equaling Roger Federer. The Spaniard is currently taking a break from the court with his fiancé as they finalize their wedding plans.

The couple has been dating since 2005. The world No. 2 won his first major title that year at the French Open. However, rumors suggest they knew each other before that year and were childhood friends. Xisca is 31 years old. She is a business graduate and worked in the insurance industry before making the switch to being a project manager at the Rafael Nadal Foundation. She keeps a low profile and is not active on social media. The 31-year-old is usually in the player’s box during some of Spaniard’s matches during the slams. After being engaged in Rome while on holiday earlier this year, the couple has set their wedding date on 19th October. The ceremony will take place in Nadal’s home town of Manacor at the La Forteza estate. The property is famous for holding private ceremonies for many celebrities in Spain.

Nadal and Xisca have been enjoying a pre-honeymoon in the Bahamas. The pair made the trip accompanied by four other friends. They are staying at a luxury hotel on the Abaco Islands. With the wedding only a few weeks away, many famous athletes and celebrities have received invitations to attend. Among those invited are pop singer Enrique Iglesias, football star Cristiano Ronaldo, NBA player Pau Gasol, and tennis compatriots Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez.

Federer will not attend the wedding

It is not clear if Roger Federer will attend Nadal’s wedding. The two players played at the Laver Cup, helping Team Europe win the cup for the third straight year. At the tournament, the two appeared to enjoy each other’s company and even coached each other during matches. Federer will play in Basel at the Swiss Indoors tournament on October 19th. There have been no indications that the 20-time Grand Slam champion will change his schedule. The two, however, have said in the past that they enjoy a special bond. Their friendship was on display at the Laver Cup and both players praised each other during interviews at the event.
