Serena and Venus Williams advance at the 2012 Olympic Games

We may call them the gold sisters even if this sounds a bit early. By the way, Serena and Venus had a remarkable day winning all matches in straight sets without allowing their opponents to win more than 3 games in the same set.

After beating her older sister in the recent Wimbledon final, it took only 73 minutes for Serena to dispatch Ursula 6-2 6-3. Venus had a more daunting task against the world no.9 Sara Errani. But the Italian is definately not a grass specialist so as to concede an easy win to Venus in 63 minutes (6-3 6-1). Then it was time for the sisters to win the doubles against the Romanians Cirstea and Haelp by 6-3 6-2 in 64 minutes.

Serena was overjoyed by this day “What a good day for fans between me, Venus, Roger and all the other players,” Serena said. “It’s really such a great experience.”

Talking about gold dreams. “Another gold medal would be amazing,” Venus said. “I can’t even imagine the feeling. I think my head would be too big, and no one would even like me anymore.”

In the next round Serena will play Zvonareva (6-3 6-3 on Schiavone). Head to Head match is 6-3 for Serena. (1-1 on grass) The American lost their last match on grass in Eastburn 3-6 7-6(5) 7-5

Venus will pay Wozniak from Canada (6-2 6-1 on Erakovic). Head to head is 1-0 for Venus as they played their only match this year in Miami in the 3rd round 4-6 6-4 7-6(5)
