Carolina Wozniacki wins a fantastic title in Eastbourne after defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
The world no.2 had to fight hard to beat the Belarussian after being 1 break down twice in the opening set (1-2 and 2-3). Later, the Dane managed to reverse a 3-5 deficit after winning 4 consecutive games and grab the first set (7-5).
In the second set, Caroline was 1 break down again in 3 occasions (0-1, 1-2 and 4-5) before winning the affair at the breaker. The final score was 7-5 7-6 (5), and the contest ended just under 2 hours.
Caroline won the same title in 2009 to comment “It’s just amazing, it’s been a long time ago since I was here as the winner of this tournament, so it’s great that I can still play almost 10 years later,”
This is Wozniacki’ s 29th title.
