Muguruza concedes just 2 games to Stosur

Garbine Muguruza produces a sensational performance in the 3rd round of the French Open against the world no.90 Sam Stosur (2010 runner-up in Paris) to concede just 2 games to the Australian.

Sam managed to appear on the scoreboard only after 9 games after she was 6-0 2-0 down. That was far too late as Garbine finally won the match 6-0 6-2 after just 63 minutes.

Draw and Results

I felt in control of the match. MUGURUZA

Soon after the match, Garbine commented

“I’m pleased with my performance today. I think it was never easy match against Grand Slam champion,” Muguruza said after the match.

She reached a final here. I’m pleased because I felt in control in the match. I like playing in Philippe Chatrier because it’s the court which is probably the most important one in my career. I played well. I knew how to play facing her tactics because she has a mix and it was important to control from the first ball.”

Next vs. Tsurenko

Garbine will face the world no.39 Lesya Tsurenko in the 4th round. The head to head is 1-all.
