Serena Williams had a rather good draw considering the fact that she wasn’t seeded, however, she will face either Karolina Pliskova or her “rival” Maria Sharapova as early as the 4^th round.

Serena has already an outstanding 19-2 H2H record against Sharapova and she has defeated the Russian beauty in the 2013 final in Paris.

The favorites of the tournament are still the first 2 seeds Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki, but past champions such as Garbine Muguruza, Jelena Ostapenko, Serena Williams (obviously) and Maria Sharapova are obvious contenders.
