Jelena Ostapenko will have the (very) daunting task to defend her surprising 2017 title at the upcoming Roland Garros.
Interesting enough, the Latvian has decided not to focus entirely on playing the singles, but also on competing in the doubles with Elena Vesnina.
It was Ostapenko to disclose her move to comment
“I was a little bit surprised when she asked me, but I was surprised in a good way because if she asked me then, she thinks I can play good doubles.”
Usually, Elena plays with Ekaterina Makarova, and they have been hugely successful together after they won the 2013 French Open, 2014 US Open, and 2017 Wimbledon.
A new beginning?
