Osaka, Kasaktina, Ostapenko at career high. WTA RANKINGS

There are no changes at the very top of the rankings after an exciting tournament in Indian Wells, but 3 #nexgen players can smile after they have achieved a career-high rank.

Osaka

Naomi is the player of the moment. The Japanese had an outstanding run in Indian Wells after she won the tournament following some inspiring wins against Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Karolina Pliskova, and Simona Halep.

After this event, Naomi goes up 22 places to be the new world no.22. Much more to come.

Kasatkina

Darya had a fantastic run in Indian Wells to lose only in the final. After this fortnight, the Russian goes up 8 places to be the new world no.11. Next step: the top10.

Ostapenko

Jelena had a disappointing run in Indian Wells where she lost in the 2nd round at the hands of Petra Martic. Still, she got full advantage of Karolina Pliskova losing many points as she lost in the quarters while in 2017 she reached the semifinal in the desert.

Jelena is now 1 place up to be the new world no.5. She needs to start to deliver again if she wants to stay at the top.

Here the rankings.
