Del Potro thiumphs in Acapulco

Juan Martin Del Potro wins one of the most difficult ATP500 titles of the year in Acapulco.

The tournament was packed with top players, and the Argentine got the trophy after defeating 3 top10 in the last 3 matches without conceding them a single set.

After beating Dominic Thiem 6-2 7-6 (7) in the 3rd round, Juan Martin dropped just 6 games against Sascha Zverev (6-4 6-2) in the semifinal before beating Kevin Anderson 6-4 6-4 in the final.

The Argentine was always in control of the contest against the South African to break Kevin once per set without never conceding his service games.

 

 

This is Del Potro’s 21st career title. After this run, Juan Martin will go up 2 places in the rankings to be the new world no.8. More to come?
