Federer in fine form in Melbourne opener

Roger Federer has a solid win in his Australian Open 1st round. The world no.2 looked in absolute control of his match against the world no.51 Aljaz Bedene to win in straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-3.

Roger broke his opponent 4 times without conceding a single service game.

I am hoping for another good year. FEDERER

Soon after the match, a visibly happy Roger Federer commented

“I am hoping for another good year. I am not sure it will go that well because I’m a year older, Rafa’s looking in tip-top shape and others guys are coming back.

Last year was a fairytale, and I can’t control everything. I am hoping to stay healthy and give myself chances and hope to play my very best in the big matches.”

Next vs. Struff

Roger will face the world no.55 Jan-Lennard Struff in the 2nd round. The head to head is 1-0 for Roger.
