At Roland Garros, Baptiste tore her ACL and meniscus, forcing her into surgery and a long rehabilitation. “I was shaking in my boots until I was under,” she admitted about the operation. The injury has been both physically and mentally challenging, but she sees it as an opportunity to grow stronger and gain new appreciation for her career.
Baptiste plans to prioritize having a physio on the road once she returns to competition. She also shared her passion for fashion and sneakers, naming herself, Taylor Townsend, and Naomi Osaka as the top three on the WTA side for sneaker style. On the ATP side, she highlighted Carlos Alcaraz.
“I think I’m just going to try to take everything I can through this process, learn what I can, get stronger mentally and physically, and it’s going to give me a new appreciation for what I do,” Baptiste said.
