I can beat the best guys in the world. ZVEREV

At 20 years of age, Sascha Zverev is as confident as a veteran.

Ranked no.4, the German is determined to have a glorious run at the Australian Open this year. Sascha had a fantastic 2017 after he won 6 titles (2 masters ATP1000), but his performance at the slams was rather poor for his stellar standards. In fact, Zverer lost in the 3rd round at the Australian Open, in the 1st round at the Roland Garros, in the 4th round in Wimbledon and in the 3rd round at the US Open.

When asked about what he has to do differently during the Australian Open pre-tournament press conference, he replied

“I’ve shown on multiple occasions over the year that I can play and beat the best guys in the world.

I mean, I’m number four in the world for a reason. Not trying to sound cocky or anything, but I’ve always said that I’ve always been working hard physically, I’m always trying to improve the performance at the grand slams.

Hopefully, I can do so this week.”

The first match

Sascha will face the world no.72 Thomas Fabbiano in the Melbourne 1st round. They have never played each other so far.
