Roger Federer had a rather comfortable start of his campaign at the ATP Finals after he defeated Jack Sock 6-4 7-6 (3) in the opening match, but something really weird happened during the contest…
What happened?
During an exchange in the 7th game of the opener when Roger was already leading 4-2, Jack hit a “bad volley” that made him an easy target to kill. The American had a hilarious reaction to “offer” his back during the rally, and funny enough Roger missed an extremely easy forehand to also lose the game.
Jack has a big… FEDERER
During the post-match press conference, Roger confessed “It was a big distraction, I’ll tell you that because it [Jack’s back] was very big. That’s what I should have aimed for. That target was bigger than the down-the-line corridor that I had. It’s sometimes happened in the past, but not on a big stage like this!
Fun stuff!
You don’t hear this spoken about every day at a @RogerFederer press conference…😂#NittoATPFinals pic.twitter.com/PI6R9ZF5MM
