Simona Halep is the deserving world no.1.
The Romanian has been through an extremely tough and emotional season to finally achieve her dream at the very end. Some are pointing to the fact that the Romanian has won just 1 tournament this year (Madrid) and she hasn’t conquered any slam in 2017 (she lost a tough final at the Roland Garros at the hands of Jelena Ostapenko).
WHY Simona deserves the world no.1 rank
During a recent interview with Roger Federer, the Maestro was extremely vocal in “defending” Simona to say
“I think who is world no 1 deserves to be there, so not for a second should you take away anything away from Halep.”
