Venus Williams provided an amusing update to a week-long controversy that happened to her recently. She claimed on social media that American Airlines had unintentionally launched her bags in the direction of the Bahamas despite her journey to Canada.
She wrote at that time struggling to find her bags: “I think I spent all my unlimited minutes calling you all which has become my full-time job day and night. I called every hour, like, I’d get off the phone and then I’d call right back and speak to another agent. I’m relentless. I needed my bags, and it was days of calling.”
After suffering an injury at Wimbledon, Williams was scheduled to compete in her first match of the North American summer hard-court season. Unfortunately, the baggage did not arrive in time for her MontrĂ©al match. After she received the bags from the concerned airlines, she acknowledged the mistake and said: “Oh, it happens. I forgive and forget, yeah.”
