Cori Gauff is one of the most interesting prospects in women’s’ tennis not only for her fantastic skills, but also for being extremely outspoken off the court. The American teenager impressed with a speech she gave in Florida during the lockdown against racism and now Coco hits the news while playing in Lexington after replying to a sexist comment of a “fan” saying:
“Bro what do you not understand she plays GIRLS tennis, he plays BOYS tennis, the skill gap is unmeasurable. A pro girl wouldn’t even win boys states.”
Coco had an extremely strong reply to the remark to say that Federer can say that he can beat her because:
“His skill level and his actual game is way better than mine. But you saying you can beat me solely because of the fact that I’m a girl is stupid.”
“If you think that you’re better than me because of the sole fact that you’re a boy and I’m a girl, that doesn’t make any sense. If you could say you could beat me because you think your skill level is better than mine, I respect that, we could go out there and we’ll compete and we’ll see who’s better.”
@cocogauffReply to @levipixton No hate to the person who wrote the comment. But real athletes understand what I’m saying. If you’re good you’re good period.
