The future of tennis on the WTA side seems to be brighter and brighter. There are a lot of interesting personalities that, at a young age have already hit the headlines multiple times not only for their on-court performance but also with their activism.

Naomi Osaka and Cori Gauff impressed after the killing of George Floyd when they didn’t back off to speak out defending the rights of the black community. Naomi even decided to go to Minneapolis that was the hot spot of the protests while Coco gave an outstanding speech in Florida.

Tennis legend and WTA founder Billie Jean King is absolutely impressed by Naomi and Coco. The American was and she is still very much involved in issues about equality, and for this reason, she is so happy with Naomi and Coco’s activism. During a recent interview, Billie commented:

“I know them a little bit and they are amazing people. Coco has such leadership possibilities how she is already speaking out about Black Lives Matters, which is forcing us to go forward with equality and inclusion.

She is so articulate, she could have been 40 or 50 years old speaking like that. And Osaka is speaking out a lot too. I think the future is dynamite.”
