Andy Murray had a rather inspiring win against Milos Raonic in the Cincinnati semifinal to win his 22nd consecutive match, but he was also close to being disqualified.
Why was he close to being disqualified?
Andy was leading Raonic 6-3 5-3 40-15; the Brit was in full control of the match, but he got extremely tight on the finish line to be close to committing suicide.
Andy wasted the first match point after missing a comfortable forehand; then he squandered the second match point with a horrible double-fault. After missing his second serve, Andy kicked the ball, and he was incredibly lucky that he didn’t hit the chair umpire: Murray would have been automatically disqualified.
Eventually, the world no.2 won 6-3 6-3, but that was close, very close.
