Naomi Osaka happy to be back with her sister Mari after ending season with injury in Shenzhen

Naomi and Mari Osaka are finally back together.

Naomi Osaka and her sister Mari

Naomi Osaka has finally ended an exhausting but successful season. The Japanese no.1 was expected to have a glorious run in 2019 especially after winning the Australian Open back to back after the US Open title. Her triumph in Melbourne gave her the world no.1 rank and that looked as it was just the beginning of an amazing season.

However, things started to go south soon after when she fired her coach Sascha Bajin to replace him with Jermaine Jenkins. Naomi started to perform rather poorly for her standards especially in Europe and during the American summer. After the US Open, she also fired Jenkins to be coached by her father and that made her winning 11 consecutive matches and 2 titles in Osaka and Beijing. Unfortunately, this feat was interrupted by an injury to her shoulder while competing during the WTA Finals in Shenzhen.  Eventually, Naomi decided to withdraw from the WTA Finals for good.

Reunited with her sister Mari

Naomi has now the luxury to enjoy a rather long off season that will last for 2 months until she will be back to competitions during the Australian summer. The Japanese posted a nice video on Instagram where she celebrated her reunion with her sister Mari. The two remain extremely close.
