Roger Federer had a fantastic 2017 with 2 slams, 2 ATP1000, and an ATP500 under his belt. After a long hiatus, the world no.2 has commenced his comeback in Perth this year because he had the opportunity to play 3 competitive singles to test his fitness ahead of Melbourne. Eventually, that was a great call as the Swiss legend surprised the world (and himself) after winning the Australian Open a few weeks later.
In Perth, Roger will partner again with Belinda Bencic that hopes to have a better 2018 after struggling with injuries for the current year.
On the Australian side, Nick Kyrgios has decided not to play in Perth this year, and he will be replaced by his “mate” Thanasi Kokkinakis.
The 2017 champion is France after Gasquet and Mladenovic have defeated Sock and Vandeweghe in the final.
These are the current teams
Switzerland: Federer & Bencic
Germany: Kerber & Zverev
Russia: Kuznetsova & Khachanov
Australia: Gavrilova & Kokkinakis
Belgium: Goffin & Mertens
Canada: Bouchard & Pospisil
America: Sock & Vandeweghe
Japan: Sugita & Osaka
The event will kick start the 30th December, and it will end the 6th of January.
