James Blake sued by NYPD officer that attacked him in New York

The former world no.4 James Blake was suddenly attacked by an NYPD officer back in 2015 when the former tennis star was standing in front of the Grand Hyatt in New York. Eventually, James was slammed to the ground and handcuffed in a terrible case of mistaken identity.

James Frascatore, the NYPD officer that conducted the arrest, has sued Blake,  the NYPD and the watchdog group prosecuting his misconduct case.

Why the officer is suing James

Frascatore is suing James because the former world no.4 suggested in television and print interviews that Frascatore was somehow a dangerous, violent officer.

According to the lawsuit

“Plaintiff has been cast as a racist and a goon. Though this characterization could not be farther from the truth, this public perception has not only led to his family fleeing their home in fear as a result of public threats to their safety; it has ruined a good man’s career, name, and reputation.”

Frascatore is seeking damages of $75,000.

Let’s see if he can get any.
