One of the biggest highlights of the Laver cup was seeing Federer and Nadal playing together doubles for Team Europe. Eventually, that came on the second day of the competition when both tennis legends took on Querrey and Sock. The match wasn’t that smooth for the Europeans that after clinching the 1st set 6-4 had to bow in the second (6-1). The affair went to the third set tiebreak, that Roger and Rafa won at 5. The final score was 6-4 1-6 10-5.

After the match, Rafa commented

“It was unforgettable for both of us after the history we have behind us as rivals. Something we really enjoyed a lot.

To have the possibility to have Roger next to me is a huge privilege… something I wanted to make happen at some point and today I made it happen.”

Federer: I will remember this forever

Roger added

“He said it all,” chuckled 36-year-old Federer.

“For me personally it was a great moment too. After this, we’ll be rivals again, thank God or unfortunately, but… this was something very special.

This is a memory for the rest of the lifetime.”
