Bad News from Juan Martin Del Potro’s camp as the Argentine had to withdraw from the Laver Cup because he is not fit.

The Tower of Tandil has recently reached the US Open semi-finals after he defeated Roger Federer on Thiem on the way. Apparently, that had a toll on his body.

Del Potro commented as follows

“It is with much sadness that I will not be able to compete in the first Laver Cup, but unfortunately I am not completely healthy after my US Open semi-final run. I just need more time for my body to fully recover and I am not ready to compete 100%. It was an honor to be selected to participate in this event, and I am sure it will be a great success.”

Juan Martin will be replaced by Frances Tiafoe.
